Obsoleted as this term is doubly redundant: when used to refer to hemocytes of the embryo (our definition), it is redundant with 'embryonic/larval hemocyte'; when used to refer to hemocytes originating in the embryo (the meaning intended by some authors, e.g. Holz et al., 2003), it is redundant with 'head mesoderm derived embryonic hemocyte'.
